Compliance and Legal Status

This page explains what InvoiceSorted is, what it is not, and what that means for you. We believe you should understand the nature of this service before you use it.
Note: This page is a reasonable conservative summary and does not constitute legal advice. InvoiceSorted is not a law firm. We recommend you seek independent professional or legal review if you have specific concerns about your situation.
1. What InvoiceSorted is
InvoiceSorted is a document-preparation and guidance service. We help UK businesses prepare documents and understand the small claims process for recovering unpaid invoices of up to £10,000 in England and Wales. We provide guidance based on the information you give us and prepare documents for you to review, sign, and send yourself.
2. What InvoiceSorted is not
InvoiceSorted is not a law firm. We are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). We are not affiliated with any law firm. We do not provide legal advice or legal representation.
We do not send documents on your behalf, and we do not file anything with the court on your behalf. You remain the party on the record throughout your claim.
3. What this means for you
You stay in control of your claim at every step. You review each document we prepare, you sign it, you send it to the other party, and you file it with the court if required. You are responsible for meeting any deadlines set by the court and for the conduct of your claim.
This is by design. The small claims track is intended to be accessible to individuals and businesses without legal representation, and many people successfully pursue claims without a solicitor. We help you prepare the paperwork correctly; you remain in charge.
4. Where to get legal advice or free help
If your matter is complex, high-value, or involves contested facts, we strongly recommend obtaining independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor.
Free guidance is available from Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk. Citizens Advice can help you understand your options and the small claims process.
For questions about court procedure, the relevant court or HMCTS can provide procedural guidance, though they cannot advise on the merits of your claim.
5. Data protection
InvoiceSorted handles personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. The supervisory authority for data protection in the UK is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). For full details of how we collect, use, and protect your data, please see our Privacy Policy.
6. Complaints
If you have a complaint about the service, please contact us first at hello@invoice-sorted.co.uk. We will aim to respond within five business days.
For complaints about how we handle your personal data, you may also contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.
