The cost of waiting.

A 90-day-old invoice is not a cashflow gap you will grow out of. The work is done, the money is owed, and every week of silence makes it feel more normal that they simply will not pay. It does not have to.

The 8% statutory interest is yours to claim. The limitation clock is the one that matters: leave it long enough and the debt quietly becomes theirs.

On an example £4,000 invoice

£52.60statutory interest, accrued

Waiting does not move the money toward you. The 8% interest is yours to claim, but the limitation clock is also running: about 5.8 years left of the six-year window to bring this claim. Leave it long enough and the debt quietly becomes theirs.

Interest: County Courts Act 1984, s.69 (8% a year). Limitation Act 1980 (six years for a simple debt).

How it works

From an unpaid invoice to a court judgment.

This is everything you already have: the invoice, the chasers you sent, the order, the proof of delivery. Watch it become a case.

  1. 1

    The Letter Before Action

Drafted from your story and the files you upload: emails, the invoice and supporting PDFs. A clear statement of account, a deadline, and what happens if it is ignored.

    Letter Before Action, £7
  2. 2

    Issue the claim

For the minority still ignored. Particulars of Claim to CPR Part 16, your emails and invoice numbered into an evidence bundle, the N1 filled in. You pay the court fee directly, recoverable if you win.

    Issue the claim, £149
  3. 3

    Secure judgment

If they ignore the claim or do not pay, we help you obtain judgment and push for payment. You pay 8% of what you recover, only when you actually win.

    Secure judgment, 8% on win
  • Most invoices: paid after a chaser or letter
  • The minority still ignored: a claim is issued
  • Around 9 in 10 judgments: entered by default
  • A small fraction: reach a contested hearing

county-court money judgments are entered by default, because the defendant never responds

Pay as you escalate. Most people never get past the letter.

Small fixed fees, one step at a time. No subscription, no hourly billing. You pay our 8% only when you win. Court fees are paid by you to HMCTS and are recoverable if you win.

Prefer not to go to the post office? Add the optional Print & Send upgrade (£43) and we print and post your Letter Before Action for you, then email you proof of posting. You always review the letter before posting, and nothing is sent until you click Send.

Three honest options for an unpaid invoice.

Do nothing

The debt goes cold, the limitation deadline slips, and the money quietly becomes theirs.

A solicitor by the hour

A solicitor often charges £200 to £350 an hour. Two or three meetings can cost more than our entire flow. We are an AI-powered service built for one focused job: getting your invoice paid.

InvoiceSorted

Small fixed fees, the same court-grade documents, and you keep control. If you win, the court can order them to repay your court fee and interest.

We do not quote solicitor prices we cannot source. Small claims usually awards no legal costs, so our fee is not normally recoverable. Court fee and interest are.

Questions people ask first.

No. InvoiceSorted is not a law firm and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We prepare documents and guide you. We do not give legal advice, we do not represent you, and we do not send or file anything on your behalf. You stay in control. That boundary is the whole design.

Most invoices are paid after a Letter Before Action. If it is ignored, the next step is issuing a claim, which we prepare for you. Around 9 in 10 county-court money judgments are entered by default, because the defendant never responds. A judgment is the order to pay, and if they still will not pay we show you the enforcement routes. We cannot and do not promise an outcome.

The case check is free. The Letter Before Action is £7, drafted from your story and the files you upload. If you want us to print and post it for you, Print & Send is an optional £43 extra. Issuing the claim is £149. Securing judgment is 8% of what you recover, charged only when you win. Court fees are separate, paid by you to HMCTS, and recoverable from the defendant if you win.

Only if you choose Print & Send. It is an optional £43 upgrade where we print your Letter Before Action and post it to the debtor by first-class post. The base £7 product is a PDF you print and post yourself. You can add Print & Send on the case check form, in chat, at the paywall, or later from your dashboard.

No. Nothing is ever posted until you have reviewed the PDF and clicked Send on your dashboard. Payment does not trigger any posting. You stay in control of exactly what goes out and when.

Yes. As soon as your letter is posted we email you proof of posting to keep as your record. This matters because the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims expects the Letter Before Action to be sent by post, and courts expect you to keep evidence that it was sent.

A letter can resolve an invoice in days. If a claim is defended and goes all the way to a hearing, Ministry of Justice figures show that takes about 50 weeks on average, but most claims resolve far sooner through default judgment, admission, or settlement.
